
Sree Siddhartha Medical College (SSMC) was founded in 1988 by Sree Siddhartha Educational Society (SSES). The college and hospital are situated 6 km from Tumkur city, on a vast 220-acre campus near the Bangalore-Honnavar highway, 76 km from Bangalore, accessible via road and railway
The climate is similar to Bangalore. There are 21 buildings with about 73,875 sq. mt of built-up area costing approximately Rs. 20 crores, including furnished staff quarters. Separate buildings exist for pre and para-clinical departments, along with a library, information center, and the SSMC Hospital.
