Maharishi Markandeshwar University, located on a 47-acre lush green campus surrounded by hills, is situated on the Chandigarh-Shimla National Highway at Sultanpur Road, Solan (H.P.)
in the ‘devbhoomi’ of the Himalayas. It was established as a multi-faculty university named after Maharishi Markandeshwar Ji, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva
The foundation stone was laid by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal Ji, on 22 February 2009
With his blessings, the University started operating in the 2010-11 academic year, beginning with the Schools of Engineering & Technology, Computer Technology, and Business Management. Additional institutes for Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Fashion Design, and more are planned for the future.
